does this camera have motion zoom?

  2. mipmipmipmipmip says:

Bought it second-hand, including the nice bag. Love it! For a compact camera it’s really pretty good.

  3. complexkitty says:

I just got the Lumix DMX-ZS3 which records in720p. If this awesome camera had had that feature and also had 12X optical zoom, I would have gotten it because I do like the freedom of manual controls.

  4. fryhead26 says:

I actually found it for $240 on the internet…

  5. peestandingup says:

If it only did 1280×720 at 30fps, I’d be all over this. Next version??

  6. cameralabs says:

Doug, my video tours are very brief overviews which accompany detailed written reviews with samples and results at the Cameralabs website. Click the link to the right of the video window to see the one for the LX2.

    I have written a comparison between the G9 & DMC-LX2 / D-LUX 3:

  8. dougblane says:

You should also mention that it shoots in RAW…!

  9. cameralabs says:

As you can see in the video, you can overlay a grid to help with alignment.

  10. Nick1814 says:

theres a setting to fix the horizon line?! i always mess that up.

  11. cameralabs says:

Fraid not, you’d have to significantly reduce the resolution for a potential reduction in noise – and that’s only even if the sensor and processor woprked that way which isn’t confirmed.

  12. samredmond says:

superb review, not even panasonic helped this much. Can anyone agress that dropping the Megapixel to 8 or less would result in less noise?

  13. maureenOWW says:

Still no reply? I suppose you can’t face the facts…ah well.

  14. maureenOWW says:

‘Less so now that we are in the EEc’ – what on earth is this supposed to mean anyway??? The UK has been in the EEC since 1973 and voltages haven’t changed in all that time…I am cunfused by your insane ramblings. Please enlighten me.

  15. maureenOWW says:

You really are confused…lets take Canons latest camera, the G9. Amazon(US) price: $499.99. Amazon(UK) price: $564 (£297 x 1.9). So there is $64 (£34) difference in price. Hardly the 100% difference you are claiming. In fact it’s only ELEVEN PERCENT cheaper. This is without even taking into account the Sales Tax (5-10% in some states). You seem to be getting CLOTHING confused with CAMERAS. You clearly ARE a mug. (and ‘owned’)

  16. BlagDAD says:

DOnt take me for a Mug punter.. Canon and most other mfrs regard Uk as easy pickings. Less so now that we are in the EEc and voltages are the same. My economics? $2=£1 MFR economics? $1=£1 ..GMAB FFS!

  17. maureenOWW says:

I think you have a lack of knowledge regarding basic economics, international tax regimes and so on. Canon make no more profit selling in the UK or Europe than they do in the US.

  18. maureenOWW says:

LX2 is junk compared to the G9, or the G7, or even the S80.

  19. misskittykitty says:

How would you compare this to the canon G9? I am torn between the 2.

  20. rommeo30 says:

does this camera has sound wean you zoom in movie mode?

  21. anonymous7000 says:

    it’s true, we do

  22. BlagDAD says:

Why do these suckers think they can charge us 100gbp over the price in america? They (mfrs) all do it, .. they must think we are all rich (mugs) over here. Arrgh!

  23. CuteLolitas says:

  24. deminator says:

i used to own an lx1. the lx2 seems to take a slightly wider shot.

    great review.

  25. Shirou says:

“hey look my screen looks just like yours.. or does it?” best part of the video.

  26. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
